Dyscalculia

Struggling with Numbers?
We empower students with dyscalculia to master math concepts step by step.

What is
Dyscalculia

Dyscalculia—often referred to as “mathematical dyslexia”—is a neurologically based learning disability that impairs a person’s ability to understand numbers and mathematical relationships. Like dyslexia affects reading, dyscalculia affects number sense. Individuals may have difficulty grasping quantity, recognizing numerical patterns, recalling math facts, sequencing steps in problem-solving, or performing accurate calculations.

At Tutoring Excellence, we address the root causes of math difficulties—not just the symptoms. Our personalized, research-informed intervention programs strengthen the cognitive processes that support numeracy, including conceptual understanding, reasoning, and fluency. The result is measurable progress, improved academic performance, and greater confidence in math.
